Global defence market deals value led by North America

Deal volume in the defense industry witnessed almost no change on a month on month basis, with 44 deals recorded in November 2012 compared to 45 in October 2012. The C4ISR electronics and IT sector leads the deals market contributing 36% of total deal volume and 71% of deal value for the month.

North America remained the biggest contributor to total deal value with 94% share, a slight increase from that of 92% registered in October 2012. The debt offering by Raytheon was the highest valued deal of the month, whereas the deals made by Curtiss Wright and Carlisle Companies contributed nearly 74% of the value in the MandA segment.

Under capital raising transactions, one equity offering transaction was recorded in November compared to two in October. Similarly, debt offering activity declined from five transactions in October to one in November, which was also 50% lower than the TTM average of two deals.
