Introduction

This is a survey-based report examining how advisors see the timeline for the recovery of their business. It looks at how competition from channels such as high street banks will affect their business in the next 12 months.

Scope

*Benchmarks leading L&P and Asset Management firms in terms of their service levels and product offerings

*Identifies advisors' perceptions of key opportunities for future business from different product segments

*Reveals IFAs' concerns of competitor channels and the impact of regulation to their business

Highlights

Out of the 100 UK financial advisors surveyed, many are undecided about their timeline for new business to pick up. The study found that 31% of IFAs expect new business conditions to get worse before they get better. Despite the pessimism in the financial community, the need for the product that IFAs offerfinancial advice itselfwill be high.

The report uses primary data to identify advisors' current and future concerns for retaining and growing their client base. It also assesses the opportunities for other competitors to seize market share from IFAs when emerging from the recession.
