Chinese life insurance premiums rose by 33% in 2010

Between January and August 2010, Chinese life insurance premiums rose by 33% to RMB 698.6 billion, and accounted for over 85% of all premiums received in China. The big players in the Chinese life insurance industry all reported growth during the year 2010. China Life reported a 12% increase in premium income, New China Life grew by 59% in the first eight months of 2010, while CPIC and Taikang Life reported year-on-year growth of 46% and 49% respectively.
