Performers and artists, already low wage-earners, took a hit during the past five years. Lower disposable incomes and higher rates of online piracy led to a dip in industry revenue. Furthermore, as consumers' wallets recover, more people will spend money on entertainment. Big-name entertainers will stay big, but smaller niche artists will experience some growth during the period as well.
