Global Wi-Fi direct products market: New market research published
WiFi Direct allows devices to communicate directly with each other using methods similar to traditional WiFi, except for the use of a central access point. Instead, the devices use a "Software Access Point" (Soft AP). Each device will have a radio transceiver, usually on a chip, which uses software to create an access point within the device itself.
As of December 2012 there have 1520 certifications issued for Wi-Fi Direct products to 48 companies for a variety of products. This paper will examine some of these companies and the products they offer. The companies range from consumer electronics companies to smartphone manufacturers to semiconductor manufacturers.
