Synchronoss Technologies Inc has acquired Miyowa, a company which represents the leading provider of social network and messaging software for mobile devices. Synchronoss Technologies provides transaction management, cloud enablement and mobility management solutions for connected devices and the acquisition of Miyowa will enhance Synchronoss' capability to provide cloud enablement of connected devices.

Miyowa's product suite is expected to enhance Synchronoss' social address book and integrate the company's mobile and social platforms. Miyowa provides a powerful customer experience for mobile social networking from the device to the cloud, instant messaging, and sharing digital media across all operating systems and the widest range of connected devices. Miyowa's customers include Tier One carrier Orange, as well as device manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC, and ZTE. In addition, Miyowa has partnerships with the world's best known social networks and messaging providers, including Twitter, Windows Live, Facebook, Windows Live, Yahoo!, Gtalk and AIM, many through privately accessible API's. The combined technology stacks will enable Synchronoss to enhance its cloud strategy across multiple devices and operating platforms. Miyowa is headquartered in Marseille, France.

The acquisition price for Miyowa is approximately valued at US$45.5 million in cash with Synchronoss possibly paying an additional US$13.5 million in cash based on Miyowa achieving set performance targets over the next four quarters.
