The United Kingdom and the United States represent to top economies in their ability to withstand cyber attacks and to deploy the digital infrastructure required for a competitive and productive secure economy. A new benchmarking study has found discrepancies between the largest economies in the World with regards to a country's preparation against cyber attack.

Interestingly, Argentina, Indonesia, Russia and Saudi Arabia have no cyber security plans either being developed or in place to address a coordinated attack of this nature. Saudi Arabia was listed in this latest study by Booze Allen Hamilton as being the worst prepared out of all the countries for such a cyber attack.

The western developed countries are leading the way in terms of implementing security measures to address cyber attacks. Cyber power relies on a number of key factors such as technical skills for security, high educational attainment levels, open trade policies, and an innovative business environment. In this respect, the United States has the most supportive systems in place in helping to develop cyber power. However, the gap between the United States and other countries such as China is narrowing, with China representing the country with the biggest trade activity.

Estonia has been identified as a country which can easily integrate advanced technology within its society, which places the country relatively high in terms of cyber power in contrast to Estonia's relatively small economy compared to other countries. Germany has also been identified as a country which leads the legal and regulatory framework category in terms of the integrated of advanced technologies.
