Leading biometrics company, AOptix Technologies, has today confirmed it has entered into a strategic partnership with the International Air Traffic Association (IATA), to help develop the ‘checkpoint of the future'.

AOptix will work with a number of other organisations as part of IATA's Security Forum and Passenger Experience Management Group; focusing on the deployment of biometrics to maximise security and minimise passenger inconvenience at airport checkpoints.

The partnership with IATA will add further credibility to AOptix, which is renowned for its high-tech, automated iris recognition e-Gate system and wealth of experience in advanced adaptive optics and wireless communication.

This week the company demonstrated its latest technology offering at the Future Travel Experience trade show in Canada, allowing visitors the opportunity to use the AOptix InSight® 2 eGate system which works as follows: Passengers register their biometric readings on an AOptix iris recognition system, position their boarding pass on a scanner, then look at a second iris recognition system to confirm that the ticket and the iris scan correspond.
