NYSE listed electronics manufacturing company, Sparton Complex Systems, confirmed today that it has been awarded a ‘high rate circuit card' manufacturing contract by communications equipment provider, Tampa Microwave.
Sparton has been in operation for 111 years, serving sectors such as security, defence, medical, navigation and exploration, via the provision of complex and sophisticated electromechanical devices. Often referred to as a ‘box-build specialist', the company's Complex Systems division is renowned for its comprehensive design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities, especially in terms of the provision of sub-assemblies, electromechanical products and other complex electronic equipment.
Tampa is a small US company, offering customers a broad range of hardware in four product categories: manportable and VSAT satellite terminals, specialised communications test equipment, microwave modules and components, and custom communication system design services. Clients include the US Department of Defense and a number of commercial satellite organisations.
Eric Guerrazzi, President of Tampa, explains: "Our decision to partner with Sparton was driven by their demonstrated quality and production process maturity. Due to accelerating demand for our TM-X850MP X-band satellite communications terminal, Tampa Microwave must scale our production rate without compromising the performance, robustness and long term reliability of our design. We have chosen Sparton to play a significant role in facilitating the successful execution of our Manpack program by utilizing their expertise in high rate circuit card manufacturing. We look forward to working with them to make this important new product available to our war fighters and Federal agencies in the significant quantities that will be required."
CEO/President of Sparton, Cary Wood, also commented: "Partnering and collaborating with our customers to ensure mutual success is one of our corporate values. This contract win is another example that our new business development efforts are beginning to gain traction and we are excited by the opportunity to work with Tampa Microwave as their extended manufacturing arm."
